The concept behind The Sweet Escape has been on my heart and mind for most of my life. Here are a few examples of how my outlook came to be:

My brother was oversees in the Marines and we got to talk on the phone once. I remember it was late. I was probably in 9th or 10th grade. He might have been drunk. One thing that stuck with me from that conversation is that he said "𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝘁."
---
I used to always think about 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘁. Seems nearly impossible but you can always flip the script, the stories you tell yourself, if you want. I can look back and easily name about 100 things that might be considered regrettable. I can also easily recite 100 good, wonderful, amazing things that came out of those situations.
---
I began to really notice overly miserable, negative, stressed people and it really bothered me! Like more than it should... Not that you have to be a super chipper, upbeat person all the time but the "everything I'd terrible" outlook is like nails on a chalkboard to me 😔 I can't see how someone would want to stay stuck there: in that mindset, in that place, that misery, and not want to do anything about it! It's important to be realistic and consider things from all sides but there is a fine line. I want to do whatever you can to make life more enjoyable. It won't be perfect, but time is precious and a terrible thing to waste.

From these instances and more, I wanted to create a place, a space, a platform, a message to encourage others to enjoy life under any circumstance. In addition, I love love love yoga, events, planning, marketing, etc. This is how The Sweet Escape came to be!

How to Live The Sweet Life:
🎉Visualize the life you want.
🎉Write it down.
🎉Make a plan.
🎉Do the work.
🎉Enjoy the journey.🙏

To be honest, I do struggle sometimes with my desire to flip the script. I don't want to lie to myself, not feel my real/true feelings. I spent most of my life burying negative emotions, avoiding hard conversations, always being amiable to keep the peace, not wanting to make anyone uncomfortable... so I make a conscious effort about that natural tendency of mine 😐

I try to spend an adequate amount of time sitting with uncomfortable feelings, not distracting myself away from them, trying not to be as busy in order to avoid them, but rather fully process anything that comes up (past/present/future). All of which is necessary in order to strive for the truly amazing life you desire.

In addition, I would love to have and strive for radical acceptance for everyone exactly who they are and where they are. Although o𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘭𝘺 negative people stand out to me, I truly love them, accept their outlook, and understand that everyone is fighting their own battle, everyone carries their own background, upbringing, and experiences that make them who they are throughout every season of their life. My mission is to simply give permission and options to those who want to try something different.

Let me know what you think!
